No matter what game you are playing, you will find that there are several available. Furthermore, in some of the more unusual variants we have on offer, you may come across bets that you haven’t seen before. By using them all to the best of your abilities, you will have the greatest chance of landing some big payouts.
Whether you are playing European Roulette, French Roulette, American Roulette, or one of the slightly more unusual variants on offer, you will find that there are almost limitless betting options.
In all versions of the games, the basic bets are split into two groups, outside bets and inside bets.
Outside Bets
These are the bets that are placed by putting chips on the perimeter of the main Roulette betting area.
Inside bets are those when chips are placed within the boundaries of the main betting area.
Also known as announced bets, these bets are only available in European and French Roulette tables. They are in fact betting patterns made up of a collection of the Inside Bets explained above. In most Roulette games, you will find shortcut buttons so that you can place these bets quickly and easily.
This can be slightly confusing at first, but it is really worth taking the time to familiarise yourself with all of the different types of bet. That way, you can begin to build betting strategies that utilise them to cover the wheel in various different ways.
There are not many types of bet in Blackjack. As players will know, you place your first bet at the start of the round, and from that point onwards, any further bets are optional. However, the game does offer players the chance to place a number of side bets, and these can make each round even more exciting.
The most commonly found side bet is Insurance. This bet is offered if the dealer’s up card is an Ace. It is a bet players can use to protect themselves from the dealer having Blackjack. The bet costs half of the original stake and if the dealer does have Blackjack, then it pays at 2:1, ensuring the player does not lose any money.
Another very common side bet is Perfect Pairs. Often it is offered as Player’s Perfect Pair and Dealer’s Perfect Pair. The Player’s Perfect Pair bet wins if the first two player’s cards in a hand form a Perfect Pair, Coloured Pair, or a Red/Black Pair. The Dealer’s Perfect Pair side bet wins if the dealer’s first two cards forms one of these pairs. The types of pairs are as follows:
Many games give you the chance to place the 21+3 side bet. This is a bet on the player’s first two cards and the dealer’s up card forming a poker hand:
Some Blackjack games are linked to progressive jackpots and these can be hugely exciting. To win the jackpot you will have to place a side bet and usually the jackpot is won by being dealt four consecutive aces from the same suit. Sometimes there will be smaller payouts available for lesser hands. For instance, three consecutive suited aces may pay 5000:1, four unsuited aces may pay 2500:1, three unsuited aces may pay 25:1, two suited aces may pay 100:1, two unsuited aces may pay 50:1, and one ace may pay 5:1.
Occasionally you may be able to place a bet on the dealer going bust, the Buster side bet. The more cards that the dealer is holding, the more the bet will pay. For example, it might pay 2:1 if the dealer has three or four cards, 4:1 for five cards, 18:1 for six cards, 50:1 for seven cards, and 250:1 with eight or more cards. In some versions, there are boosted payouts if the player is holding Blackjack. For instance, if the player has Blackjack and the dealer goes bust with seven cards it may pay 800:1 and if the player has Blackjack and the dealer goes bust with eight or more cards, it may pay 2000:1.
Baccarat players don’t always realise that the game often offers far more bets that Player, Banker of Tie. There are a number of Baccarat side bets that may be on offer and not only do they make the game more exciting, but they can also be hugely lucrative.
For example, you can often place the Player/Banker/Either Pair side bet, which is simply a bet on the player, banker, or either being dealt a pair and it usually pays out around 5:1. Similarly, you may be able to place a Perfect Pair side bet on the player or banker being dealt a suited pair and it often pays around 25:1.
Another very popular form of Baccarat side bet are the Egalite bets. These are bets on specific ties, for example, both hand positions equalling 6. An example paytable may be: 0 150:1, 1 215:1, 2 220:1, 3 200:1, 4 120:1, 5 110:1, 6 and 7 45:1, and 8 and 9 80:1.
Many live Baccarat games offer the Big and Small Side bets. It is a bet on the total number of cards dealt across the two positions. The Big side bet wins if the total number of cards dealt between the two positions is 5 or 6 and it usually pays at 0.54:1. The Small side bet wins if the total number of cards dealt between the Player and Banker is 4 and it usually pays at 1.5:1.
You might also find the Super 6 side bet, which is a bet on the Banker winning with a total of six and will often pay around 12:1. A similar side bet is the Royal Match, which is a bet on either position being dealt a King and Queen in the first two cards and it often pays 75:1 for a suited King and Queen and 30:1 for unsuited.
There are many more common Baccarat side bets that you may find, such as the Dragon Bonus, and as you explore our tables, you will hopefully have a great deal of success when placing them.
